This could be farther from the truth. Mediation is an option that has been around for many years.

Agreements reached in mediation are binding. Parties should defiantly take the process seriously. The last thing that you want is to fight in court. In mediation you work towards an agreement together. If you leave your life in the hands of a judge that does not know you or your situation you may be less than satisfied with the result.

According to the American Arbitration Association mediation is effective over 85% of the time. It is hard to argue with these results. If you are not considering mediation as an option it may be worth another look.
